This place wasn’t for him anymore.
The apartment that had once been filled with hummed songs, kitchen sounds and wandering footsteps was now silent. It was void of all life, and he was desperate enough to crave even the uncomfortable silences he and Alice had shared. At least she would have been there.
He spent his days after the funeral drifting through his apartment, completely lost on what to do. Mundane human lifestyles were pointless to him, yes, but he loved to share the day to day tasks with Alice. He didn’t need to work, and he couldn’t even look at the crossword in the newspaper without breaking down.
By the end of the week the apartment was completely bare.
He had turned in his keys, packed up what belongings he cared about and headed toward the beach. The wind was bitter and cold with the oncoming autumn.
He began to step into the water, walking out toward the moonlit horizon. A few paces in, and he had become completely submerged.
His many tentacles propelled him through the cold, dark water, and his face remained unbroken until he had swam a few miles out.
Her casket was below him. He drifted softly for a moment, staring down into the abyss.
Kraken sunk himself until he felt the grainy sand beneath him, and ventured closer to the deathbed. She slept so peacefully there, a small smile on her face, surrounded by flowers. He had never looked upon someone he had loved so dearly before in death. The only other one he had felt so strongly for had dispered completely into seafoam. Alice was here. Her life was not immortal, but his own blood, now stagnant in her veins made her body so. She would sleep here forever. Untouched by dissolution and pristine until the end of time.
He tenatively touched the glass, biting his lip and knowing very well his tears were being swallowed by the water surrounding him.
Kraken pushed off of the sea floor and rose, glancing one last time at the peaceful blonde.
“Love you, Alice.” He murmured softly.
He turned, and began somberly through the sea. He had a long while’s travel before he was back in Greece.
((This is my last post here, everyone c: I had so much fun RPing with you guys, even if I wasn’t the best partner. I adore the relationships I’ve built here, and will keep in touch! Thank you so much!))
(( And that’s the end guys! Not everyone gets a happy ending and this was proof. Judah is alive and well with whats left of his daughter and Alice died doing what she was born to do. I just wanted to say how happy this place has made me and how I will always be grateful for everyone who was kind, or took an interest in our little story. Although we all might have had ups and downs I will reflect more on the ups. You guys have my aim and I will always be happy to talk to you all.
We both love you all very very much. Thank You. ))
